Why become an Executive Coach?

Executive coaching is one of the more rewarding types of coaching. Yet, not many coaches choose to learn executive coaching, and not many institutes give executive coaching courses as part of their curriculum. It appears that many coaches are either not aware of the benefits of working in the executive coaching arena or think that they do not have the necessary skills to become successful in this field.

So why should you consider learning to be an executive coach?

Executive Coaches Have More Fun!

Working with Executives will         sharpen your skills daily

Well, the most obvious reason could be the simple fact that executive coaching usually pays better then life coaching. Managers and executives have, on average, more free income then most people. So they can afford to hire a coach and they are less . Also, in corporate world, a coach can often be hired by the organization to coach not one, but several executives and managers. This not only makes the deal bigger, it makes it more profitable because you get more clients out of the same marketing and sales effort.

Another reason is that managers and executives tend to form networks. Once you successfully coached one, he is likely to recommend you to his colleagues and friend. Also, executives tend to move around. If your client liked what you did for him in one organization, he may just hire you to perform your magic once more when he goes over to a new position in another organization.

And one more reason is that the world of executives and manager is fascinating, and by becoming their trusted coach, you gain access to the same networks that they move in. This is invaluable not just as a potential source of future earnings, but also for your own personal development as a professional.

So, with such compelling reasons, why is it that we do not see as many executive coaches as we see life coaches? How come there are several life coaching courses to be found for every executive coaching course?

I will address this issues in another post.
